"Then the King will say to those on His right, 'Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink...naked, and you clothed Me...' "Then the righteous will answer Him, 'Lord when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink?" "Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me".
-Matthew 25:34-40

"And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common; and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need."
-Acts 2:44-45

One way that PVCC tries to fulfill the above Scripture is through a Benevolence Ministry. The Benevolence Ministry has two main functions at this time.

The S.O.S. (Saints on Standby) Ministry is a network of caring people in each shepherding group who provide meals for members of their shepherding group during times of need such as births, illnesses, or death in the immediate family. The coordinator for meals in the home is Phyllis Ireland.

Another function is to provide financial help to those in need, Both in our church family and outside our church family. At this time we can only help those persons outside our church family once every twelve months and only if the funds are available. They must first fill out a questionnaire and have a consulting session with our Senior Pastor. Please contact our church office in this regard. All cases are considered on an individual basis. We feel that we should concentrate on those who are truly in need; those who are without family members that are willing and able to assist them in their time of distress. We use I Timothy 5:8 as our guideline: "If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever".

All coordinators can be reached through the church office.

Every Christmas Eve, the church takes a special offering to fund the ministry for the coming year. But donations are welcome at any time.
